It’s big, very, very concentrated, and redolent of iodine, sweet spices, good, mature Sherry and creamy vanilla. Stunning. Palate: Very thick and rich. A massive mouthful of malt and Sherry with good fruity sweetness, but also a wonderful sweetness.

Is the distiller’s edition better than the regular 16 year old?
If you like the austerity of the regular 16 yrs. better than the Distiller’s Edition, you might want to try out the 8 yrs old – although only half the age as the 16 yrs old and (here in Germany) at about the same price, it might go just in the direction you like.
