On average, we mill around 900 pounds of flour a day. The baker scaling flour for the next day’s dough mix uses flour milled just hours before it’s scaled — sometimes it’s even still warm from the mill!

Can you freeze B&W crumb cake?
Crumb cakes arrive ready to enjoy. May be kept on the counter for up to 3-5 days. To freeze, wrap tightly with aluminum foil or plastic freezer wrap, and place in a heavy-duty freezer bag. Properly stored, it will maintain best quality for about 2 to 3 months.
Is baked by Melissa kosher?
All of our products are baked in a central dairy Kosher-certified kitchen (all of our certified kosher products are dairy). While our kitchen is certified by OK Kosher, our store locations are not since we are open seven days/week.
Is Breads bakery babka kosher?
Note: Breads Baker is not a kosher bakery. Their menu is vegetarian with some fish items (no shellfish). There are some non-dairy baked goods available. Breads Bakery offers baking classes although none are scheduled at this time.
Why did my streusel topping sink?
the batter had swallowed up the entire amount. it turned out the oven was way off and the baking time was too long. the structure of the cake has to set quickly to hold the crumb topping up.
