What is the Federation credentials Verification Service?

FCVS is a fast and convenient way for physicians and PAs to store core credentials that can be used for multiple state medical boards. State medical boards rely on this centralized, uniform process for obtaining primary-source verified, education information for those applying for licensure.

Is FCVS necessary?

Nearly all state medical and osteopathic boards accept or require FCVS.

Is FCVS the same as FSMB?

The FCVS and Uniform Application forms may look similar but they are separate forms. The FCVS affidavit is sent to FCVS. The Uniform Application affidavit is sent to each board you are applying to. If you send the Uniform Application affidavit to FSMB, there will be a delay in your licensure process.

Does FCVS send Usmle scores?

It depends on who your FCVS profile is being sent to. Profiles sent to state licensing authorities – No. USMLE, FLEX and SPEX transcripts (all of those for which you have exam history) are included in your profile. You will need to submit a transcript request and have your transcript(s) sent separately.
